Electric Heated Cat Beds

All about electric cat beds. These really come in two main types; battery powered and plug-in types. Also, little electric heating bed inserts come in both those categories. Deciding which one is best the choice is a matter of personal preference.

• Considerations:


• replacing batteries is expensive
• batteries have no annoying cords
• the selection of battery powered heated cat beds is much smaller than that of their plug-in type brethren

If you choose to go with the AC powered corded type here are some helpful points to consider.


• Things electric cat beds should have:
  • chew resistant cords
  • low voltage power adaptors - to lower shock and fire risks
  • fire resistant materials

• Really great electric heating cat bed features WE like:
• detachable power cords
• adjustable heat settings
• machine washable
• massaging vibrations
• (actually we aren't sure how much we like this one but they do exist)

Heated cat bed inserts are another option. These can be an excellent way to go if you already have a cat bed: just slip in one of these heated pads under a blanket or sleeping mat (make sure the bed isn't flammable). Generally these are small pads about 6" x 6" or smaller. The considerations for these heated cat bed inserts is the same as for the battery and cord powered heated cat beds listed above.
